New Year's Eve

This is my first post here - I have a baby boy, our first child, due on January 14th, 2023 What an incredible reality - I have been thinking about how to commemorate this for myself and my Son. There is no instruction manual on how to be a Dad, it’s all instincts and questions - And there are lots of questions, cause this shit is confusing, scary and you can’t help but feel a little disconnected from the whole process as, you simply don’t experience any of the physical sensations the same way Mama does - (every time the baby kicks i instinctively reach for the car keys, but she assures me, it’s not time, she will let me know.)

How fitting to be expecting a baby on New Year’s Eve - The due date is January 14th, but many signs point this boy is coming early - (I’ll spare the biological details for now)

I couldn’t be more excited for his arrival, but holding true to past patterns, I am trying to hang on to this old version of life just a little bit longer.

Honestly, I think I’m just scared, what if something goes wrong, what if there’s an issue - My brain has been in overdrive these past few weeks and my thoughts are spinning a teensy bit out of control - Mainly why I’m starting this blog. I think these thoughts are normal - but that doesn’t make them any easier to deal with.

Ive never been much of a stick to something everyday kind of guy, but this kiddo is coming and there’s no backing out now, I can’t wait to stick with him every single day. Happy New Year!
